Planning a trip to Subic? Stop at this Korean-inspired cafe that just opened up recently at Subic Bay!
The beautiful resorts and beaches of Subic, as well as the numerous day trips and wildlife preserve nearby, make it a popular tourist destination. Now that summer is still here, it’s hard to beat a cold beverage to cool off in the sweltering heat.
Kim’s Café is a cozy, Korean-inspired bayside café with a very instagrammable summer aesthetic! Beige and yellow serve as the primary motif throughout, and every corner is ideal for taking selfies or snatching candid shots.
Whether you prefer your beverage hot or cold, you can enjoy your beverage at any time of the day thanks to their air-conditioning. They also offer a reliable WIFI connection, so if you need to work on your laptop while out and about, this is the place to go. They also have a front veranda, which is ideal for those times when you want to sip their beverage while taking in the fresh air and sunshine.
Besides hot and iced coffee, they also serve non-coffee beverages such as over-iced drinks, frappes, and hot beverages like honey ginger tea and hot chocolate, as well as food items such as pasta, sandwiches, salads, and cheesecake. We tried their strawberry latte in the large size, and just in case I forgot to mention it, they offer two different size options that they call OMA and APA, which are words derived from the Korean language. OMA refers to the smaller size, and APA refers to the larger size.
Kim’s Café Experience
Arriving in Olongapo from Pampanga at about 2 p.m., I took a taxi at the Harbor Point Ayala Mall to Kim’s cafe, which got me there in less than 10 minutes. When I walked into the café, I was surprised to hear the staff greeting me in unison, and they were very accommodating. By this point, there were a few customers, and it never seemed like there wasn’t at least one new one arriving every hour.
While waiting for my best friend to arrive after work, I placed an order for a strawberry latte and worked on my laptop in the meantime. I’ve also taken a few photos and videos and I’m so happy that I was able to witness the sun’s rays streaming through the window all the way up until dawn.
When my best friend finally arrived, the two of us placed an order and shared some of their dishes, including the pesto, Caesar salad, and cheesecake.
In a nutshell, the café is a must-see if you’re in the area and looking to spend a relaxing afternoon by the sea after a long walk. You can bring your pets along, and they’ll be able to relax on the veranda or the beach.
